When people travel, they tend to search for all the beautiful spots that the place has to offer. Especially with the presence of social media right now, people can’t help but take a lot of photos to commemorate their travel and post them in the most aesthetic way. Thus, the term ‘Instagrammable’ became a thing among social media users.
So if you are visiting Sapporo with those in your mind, then don’t miss out on these 5 Instagrammable Spots in Sapporo.
Sapporo Factory is a large shopping and entertainment complex with about 160 establishments that include clothing stores, souvenir shops, restaurants, cafes, and a multi-screen movie theater. The building is quite old as it was opened in 1993 in Central Sapporo but its interior was kept in good shape for years. What makes this place a nice spot for aesthetics photos is its beautifully designed garden and its building fully covered with crawling green plants. Even the interior of the building is Instagram worthy.
Going in a cemetery just to take photos may seem odd to you. It’s not like it’s a tourist attraction right? But is it really not? Visiting Takino Reien would make you think twice. You wouldn’t even think it’s a cemetery!
Near the entrance of the park, you can see statues of Moai giants lined up. Inside the premise, just pass the actual gravesites, is a miniature Stonehenge. You are not allowed to go close to the structure but by just looking at it from far, you’ll really think that you are in England. There’s even a miniature Japanese garden a few meters away! There’s also a hill of lavender plants which is definitely a breathtaking view and a like hoarder on your Instagram feed. Just make sure to visit in spring if you wanna make sure the lavenders are blooming. But nonetheless, the whole place offers a bunch of structures to visit even without the blooming hill of lavenders.
The highlight in the whole cemetery is the huge Buddha statue sitting in an underground hall, right beneath the hill of lavenders. Inside the hall is a very sleek and minimalist interior with all concrete and gray colors. This design is also integrated inside the cafes and souvenir shops of the place! Can you believe it? The place also has a souvenir shop inside! Now, would you really think of it as “just” a cemetery?
Mt. Moiwa Ropeway
Aerial shots will never not be beautiful. The view from the cable cars all the way to the observatory deck is breathtaking. From the deck, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the cityscape of Sapporo. The night view from the deck is absolutely stunning as well! There’s also planetarium at the star hall of the deck which features five million dazzling stars projected on the dome ceiling. You’ll surely take a lot of photos if you stay from daytime until nighttime.
Moerenuma Park is not your usual park. This park in Sapporo is about 4 kilometer in circumference and has several massive and dramatic features that are perfect for your Instagram feed. In the middle of the park is a sea fountain that shoots water into the air at 25 meters high. There’s also a gigantic glass pyramid structure called Hidamari, kinda similar to that of Paris’ Louvre Pyramid. The exterior of Hidamari will give you a Paris vibe but surrounded by nature.
Inside the pyramid are an information center, an atrium, some basic facilities, and a gallery space dedicated to the designer of the park, Noguchi. You can also relax and chill while enjoying the view of the vast land of greeneries and nature from one of the benches or resting places inside the huge building. This place is a great place to visit anytime as the view and the vibe of the place differs from each season.
Sapporo Beer Museum
Sapporo Beer Museum is the only museum in Japan dedicated to beers. The interior of the museum is absolutely glamorous and elegant and it gives off the medieval vibe. There are also different halls and restaurants inside the museum that are themed and designed differently. If you enjoy taking elegant looking photos, then this place is for you.
